Full proposal

Works to facilitate the conservation and decarbonisation of the Palm House and Waterlily House to include construction of an ancillary storage building behind the Waterlily House; re-landscaping of the site including reinstatement of the historic oval path around the Palm House, new access ramps and new external steps to the west entrance of the Palm House; installation of a ground level platform lift leading to the Palm House basement; external fabric upgrades to include glass replacement; installation of plant comprising the construction of a new substation and air source heat pumps in the Shaft Yard and associated infrastructure; alterations to part of the boundary wall to facilitate access to the new substation; and other associated works.
