Following the failure of the property???s pre-existing boiler during its annual Gas Safe inspection, a replacement unit was required. During the installation process, a Gas Safe registered engineer identified a critical safety non-compliance regarding the original flue. The existing terminal was situated within an alcove (supporting floor plan document provided), which failed to meet current Building Regulations and posed a documented risk to the gas safety of the floor above (failed gas safe report provided). Technical assessments by a case safe officer concluded that the front elevation of the property was the only safe and viable location for the new flue termination. Other options, such as the side alley, were professionally discounted as they would have necessitated a breach of neighbouring boundary lines (supporting floor plan document provided). In accordance with manufacturer safety specifications and Gas Safe standards, the front-facing relocation was deemed the only compliant solution. To minimize the aesthetic impact on the building???s fa??ade, the following measures have been implemented: * Siting: The flue is strategically positioned on the far edge of the building, effectively screened by existing established greenery (supporting images provided). * Precedent: The installation is consistent with the established character of the building, which already features a prominent, centrally located boiler flue serving a separate dwelling on the same elevation (supporting images provided). This relocation was a matter of essential safety compliance (gas safe approval document provided) and has been executed with due regard for the visual amenity of the area.
